Manufacturer program

HOLDING COMPANY "INDUSTRIJA KABLOVA"-JAGODINA (FKS) range products includes and cables for airport (aerodrome) lighting. The FKS is a complete fitted out for manufacture and for the all tests of airport lighting cables.The Cables designed in accordance with standard JUS N.C0.006.The FKS range of products includes the following types of cables for airport lighting:

If the sheath is elastomeric compound based on Polychloroprene:

SEpN - LIGHTING UNSCREENED CABLE FOR AIRPORT INSTALLATIONS
SEpN/Z - LIGHTING SCREENED CABLE FOR AIRPORT INSTALLATIONS
SEpN/FJ - LIGHTING LOW VOLTAGE CABLES FOR AIRPORT INSTALLATIONS

If the sheath is elastomeric compound based on Chlorosulfonated Polyethylene(Hypalon), that are corresponding the cable types:
SEpES, SEPEs/Z and SEPEs/FJ.

 

Construction elements and materials

CONDUCTOR: For primary high voltage airport cables type SEpN and SEpN/Z are used Copper tinned stranded conductors class 2 in acc. with IEC 228 or in acc. with ICEA Publication S-68-516 (NEMA WC8) class B or C.
For secondary low voltage flexible cables type SEpN/FJ are used Copper tinned fine-stranded conductors class 5 in acc. with IEC 228 or in acc. with ICEA Publication S-68-516 (NEMA WC8) class C.
INSULATION: Extruded compound based on Ethylene-propilene elastomer. EPR is easy to be processed and it has got excellent electrical, mechanical and thermic characteristics. EPR is high resistance to ozone,to ageing and to deformations. It is resistance to change of temperature and low temperatures to -40°C and it is also resistance to water absorption.

ELECTRICAL SHIELD (SCREEN): It is applied directly over the insulation for cable type SEpN/Z. The Screen shall be consist of a metallic nonmagnetic materials. A metallic nonmagnetic component consisting of a tape, wires or combination of both. The Screen must not be in break and the screen shall be electrically continuous throughout each cable lenght.

SHEATH: Extruded compound based on Polychloroprene or Chlorosulfonated polyethylene elastomer. They haven a excellent mechanical characteristics. These elastomeric materials are resistance to wear,to abrasion,to solvents,to vibrations,to ageing and to weathering factors.They are also resistance to oils,fuels,acids and alkali. These materials are resistance to increase and low temperatures to -30°C and to flame.

Standard and testing of cables
The Cables construction is in accordance with requirements of standard FAA L-824, type B (UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL CABLE FOR AIRPORT LIGHTING CIRCUITS) relatively to AC 150/5345-7D or in accordance with standard ICEA Publication S-68-516 (NEMA WC8).

Cables laying
Airport lighting cables may be to lay run below or beside the airport starting-landing paths in plastic tubes or in concrete ducts. Airport lighting screened cables may be buried direct in ground, while this is not recommended for unscreened cables. In stony terrains, where sharp stony edges may cause damage, it is advisable to lay the airport cables in ducts or in shafts with sand. When laying cables, particularly at the time of frequent rainfall, it is indispensable to seal their ends in order to
prevent penetration of moisture.


Cables packing

The all these types of airport cables may be delivered without con
nectors on the nonreturnable wooden drums.
The primary high voltage cables also may be delivered with two connectors at ends of cable in a ring.
The secondary low voltage cables may be delivered in a coils without connectors or in a ring of corresponding length including a connector at one end, the other end is net cut or fitted with two swaged spaded terminals.
Standard packings of manufacturer are given in the table 4. Diferent lengths of packing may be delivered in accordance with purchaser's requirement.
Data of packings for airport primlry and secondary lighting cables are given in the table 1.
